Wonderful tales from the history of one of Liverpool's most significant 'lost' villages.

From its ancient manor, once owned by the original Bamber Gascoigne and the Marquesses of Salisbury, to the grave of Eleanor Rigby, this story spans the centuries. We look at Woolton Hall, now sadly in a sad state of neglect, and at the Woolton School House, which has been completely refurbished and where, in the late 16th century, Saint John Almond was a pupil.
In this talk Ken also describes how, where, and when Paul McCartney met John Lennon in the village; and he tells the histories of Woolton Quarry; the Swimming Baths; and the famous Woolton Picture House ~ amongst much else.
A talk that will bring back memories for many people and entertain and fascinate all in equal measure.
